What a controlled renovation requires

A complete renovation involves numerous stakeholders, technical decisions, and regulatory constraints. Without clearly assumed leadership and an overall vision of the execution process, projects can quickly lose fluidity and control.

Field expertise that can anticipate complexities, make the right decisions at the right time, and effectively resolve unforeseen events on site is essential to ensure project continuity and integrity.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find the answer to your question in our FAQs, please feel free to contact us directly.

How much does it cost to completely renovate a house in Geneva & Vaud?

Each project is unique, but complete renovations in Geneva and the canton of Vaud typically range between 2,000 and 4,000 Swiss francs per m2, depending on the level of design, structural changes, and materials. After your on-site consultation, we provide you with a clear and detailed quote so that you can plan with confidence.

Do you take care of the permits and authorizations for my renovation? As well as the co-ownership authorisations?

Yes. In Geneva and the canton of Vaud, even private residences often require a permit for structural, plumbing or façade modifications. Condominium apartments also require the approval of the management company or the property manager. Collet Homes takes care of this for you – from preparing and submitting plans to managing municipal building permits, temporary access or occupancy permits for private property, and coordinating with inspectors. We make sure that your renovation complies with local regulations before the work begins.

Should I hire an architect or designer first?

Not necessarily. Many clients start directly with our team. We can collaborate with your architect or recommend one of our trusted partners to align design intent, technical feasibility, and budget from the outset. This ensures your vision, plans, and costs are all synchronized before construction begins.

How long does a complete renovation take?

Timelines depend on the size and extent of the property. It can take 10 to 16 weeks to completely renovate an apartment, while it can take 4 to 6 months to completely renovate a townhouse or private residence. Before the work begins, you will receive an accurate schedule with updates throughout the process.

Can we live in the accommodation during the renovation work?

This is possible for small or phased projects, but for complete renovations, it is often more convenient to move temporarily. We take steps to protect floors, minimize dust, and coordinate with neighbors or property managers to ensure the process goes smoothly and discreetly.

How are renovation costs tracked and managed?

We prepare a detailed written quote and fixed price proposal once the design and scope are confirmed. You'll approve every step before we proceed, ensuring transparency and control. Any changes are discussed and agreed in writing – no surprises.

What warranties or after-sales support do you offer?

Yes. We operate as a registered and insured renovation company in Geneva and the canton of Vaud. All work is covered by a minimum 2-year warranty, and many materials and appliances come with their own manufacturer's warranty. We guarantee the quality and durability of each project.

We remain on hand for post-project support to ensure that your home continues to perform beautifully.
