In a picturesque tourist village on the shores of Lake Geneva, an exciting transformation has taken place. This modest 25 m² space, which housed the showers and toilets of a restaurant, has been transformed into something truly special.

To realize this vision, the interior was completely stripped down. Every centimeter being crucial, the demolition made way for higher ceilings. Old elements, such as a Placoplâtre floor, were replaced to create a solid foundation for what is now a modern and functional space.

The result? A small studio apartment, perfect for tourist rentals, which also serves as a comfortable pied-à-terre for the owners. Both uses blend seamlessly with the building’s historic character, thanks to thoughtful details such as renovated windows that respect the original design, and a clever storage layout.

The clever use of space is the most important element of the design. The studio comfortably accommodates up to four people, making it ideal for families seeking a summer getaway by the lake. Large windows and an open layout bring in natural light, creating bright and inviting interiors. It’s a small space, but it truly offers comfort, adaptability, and the opportunity to connect with the natural beauty of Lake Geneva. Click here for information on renting this studio.

In a picturesque tourist village on the shores of Lake Geneva, an exciting transformation has taken place. Once a modest 25 m² space housing the showers and toilets of a restaurant, this place has been redesigned to become something truly special.

To realize this vision, the entire interior was stripped down to its bare structure. Every centimeter counted, and the demolition allowed for increased ceiling height. Old elements, such as a plasterboard floor, were replaced to create a solid foundation, paving the way for a modern and functional space.

The result? A small studio apartment, perfect for tourist rentals, which also serves as a comfortable pied-à-terre for the owners. Both uses blend harmoniously with the building’s historic character thanks to carefully considered details, such as modernized windows that respect the original design, and an ingenious layout to optimize storage.

The great strength of this design is its clever use of space. The studio comfortably accommodates up to four people – ideal for families seeking a summer retreat by the lake. Large windows and an open layout allow natural light to flood in, making the interior bright and inviting. It’s a small space that offers comfort, versatility, and a true connection with the natural beauty of Lake Geneva. Click here for more information about renting this studio.
